MEET OUR FOUNDER

“My fashion journey began with a passion to bring my creations to life.

Sharing my experiences & helping others succeed became my purpose”

Born and raised in Michigan, my story begins with a class project that gave us the opportunity to work with world-renowned Ballerina Patricia Barker at the Grand Rapids Ballet. Developing my design & sewing skills within the costume department ignited my passion for the swim and intimate apparel field. Eager to delve deeper into the world of apparel, I made the life-changing decision to move to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). My journey through the realms of ballet, fashion, and modeling has woven a unique tapestry of experiences that have brought me here today.

After graduating, I was quickly propelled through the ranks of technical design, securing a notable position as Technical Design Director early on in my career. Quadrupling purchase orders and profits by implementing structure, quality control and fit standards our company was able to expand its product divisions & team by over 200% within a five year span. During this time I discovered a passion for inclusion and making clothing accessible to all body types. Witnessing the underserved plus-size community and the challenges they faced behind the scenes fueled my desire to address these problems head on and be the change that is so desperately needed.

While working on the product end an unexpected twist came when I was given the opportunity to sign with TRUE Model Management, launching me into the modeling industry. Studying under the wing of model Coco Rocha, I took on this exciting new challenge and was exposed to a whole new dimension of the product world. This allowed me to collaborate with iconic brands such as Calvin Klein, Under Armour, Amazon, Walmart, SHEIN, Tommy John & Thinx.

Despite the excitement of my New York experience, I felt that something was missing. Although proud of my accomplishments and opportunities, I was ultimately left unfulfilled. Cherishing my time in NYC, a calling to return to my roots led me back to Michigan, where I currently reside just outside of Detroit.

Now, my mission is clear: to empower and educate individuals who share similar dreams. Drawing from my wealth of experience, I am dedicated to guiding aspiring talents toward success. KDC is more than a name; it's a beacon of passion, expertise, and a commitment to fostering a supportive community in the ever-evolving landscape of fashion.
